Spellerberg Park was named in memory of Fred Spellerberg, the first superintendent of the Sioux Falls parks.  Spellerberg envisioned a green city, with plenty of open areas given to park use, and Sioux Falls has been following his lead ever since.

 Spellerberg has something for all seasons: the pool, tennis courts, and sand volleyball pit for warm weather, a sledding hill for cold, and a large picnic area and walking trails for times in between.
